Mechanical Engineer – Data Centre Project (Espoo, Finland)€65,000 – €80,000 + Rotation + Accommodation + Travel €32,000 Net Living AllowanceContract Type: Full-Time / PermanentLocation: Espoo, FinlandAn experienced Mechanical Engineer is required to support the delivery of a large-scale, mission-critical data centre project in Espoo, Finland. This is a site-based role within a multidisciplinary MEP delivery team, focused on the technical, commercial, and construction management of mechanical building services. You will be involved across the full project lifecycle, from design and procurement through installation, commissioning, and final handover. The role suits an engineer with strong design coordination skills and experience working for a mechanical or MEP contractor on complex construction projects. Key ResponsibilitiesManage and coordinate mechanical engineering activities from design through to commissioning and handoverAct as a key point of contact for client-side technical communication on mechanical scopeReview tender and contract documentation to ensure scope clarity and technical complianceLead design management, including review of drawings, specifications, and technical submissionsCoordinate mechanical services with electrical, CSA, BIM, and commissioning teams to ensure integrated deliveryOversee the selection, technical approval, and procurement of mechanical plant, equipment, and materialsPrepare, review, and implement method statements and risk assessments for mechanical construction activitiesManage HVAC deliverables in line with project specifications, programme, and safety requirementsSequence mechanical installation works to align with construction programme milestonesSupport site installation works to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to HSEQ standardsAssist with programme tracking and support progress through testing, commissioning, and handoverSupport commercial activities including validation of scope at handover from estimatingAssist with the documentation and costing of scope changes, variations, monthly valuations, and final accountsSupport close-out activities including commissioning documentation, O&M manuals, and snag resolutionSkills & QualificationsDegree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or equivalentPrevious experience in a Mechanical Engineer role within an M&E or mechanical contracting environmentProven design management and coordination experience is essentialStrong understanding of HVAC systems within complex construction projectsExperience working in design & build project environmentsStrong organisational and communication skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholdersCommercial awareness with experience supporting procurement and cost controlProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ProjectExperience on data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, or mission-critical projects is advantageousWhat’s on Offer€65,000 – €80,000 base salary, depending on experienceFull rotational package, including:Accommodation providedAll travel covered€1,000 net monthly living allowanceLong-term opportunity on a high-value, technically complex data centre projectSupportive, engineering-led project environmentStrong career progression and development opportunitiesExposure to cutting-edge critical infrastructure projects across Europe
