Senior Authorised Person – Data Centre Project (Frankfurt, Germany)€95,000 – €110,000 + Rotation + Accommodation + Travel + €32,000 Net Living AllowanceContract Type: Full-Time / PermanentLocation: Frankfurt, GermanyAn experienced Authorised Person (Electrical) is required to join a major data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany. This is a critical site-based role, responsible for the safe operation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems (LV/MV) across the site. You will work closely with Senior Authorised Persons, Energy Marshalls, and the Commissioning team to enforce electrical safety procedures, manage permits, and support energisation activities. This is a hands-on role for qualified electricians or electrical engineers with strong high-voltage and medium-voltage experience. The position offers exposure to technically complex, mission-critical data centre infrastructure and a collaborative, safety-driven work environment. Key ResponsibilitiesEnforce Mercury’s Electrical Safe System of Work (ESSOW) and ensure adherence to Control of Hazardous Energies ProceduresIssue, approve, and manage permits for all LV and MV electrical worksFollow Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures and permit-to-work systems to ensure safe energisation and isolationConduct regular audits, inspections, and reporting of site electrical safetyEnsure segregation of hazardous areas and proper use of PPEAssist in internal audits such as COHE self-assessments and temporary electrics inspectionsSupport Senior Authorised Persons to remain compliant with site safety standardsIdentify potential hazards and implement mitigation measuresPerform testing, commissioning, and energisation of electrical systems including MCCs, VSDs, distribution panels, motors, lighting, and small power circuitsReview and interpret project drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams, schematics, and vendor manualsConduct insulation resistance, point-to-point, grounding, and live-dead-live testingExecute switching schedules in coordination with the Energy Marshall and SAPInspect and sign off panels, perform pre-energisation checklists, and approve energisation requests within nominated voltage rangesParticipate in commissioning activities from Level 1 through Level 5, supporting the full system handoverMonitor and advise on PPE and safety equipment condition, ensuring calibration and replacements as neededAssist in electrical incident investigationsMaintain accurate records in Mercury’s snagging and progress systemsReport all electrical events to SAP and the Commissioning Authority (CxA) promptlyIssue weekly progress reports highlighting changes in electrical conditionsProvide timely updates and guidance to project engineers, site supervisors, and commissioning teamsEssential CriteriaQualified electrician (National Craft Certificate or equivalent Level 6 qualification) or equivalent electrical engineering awardMinimum 3+ years’ experience on MV systems, with additional LV experience preferredCompleted recognised MV/HV switching course if nominated for MV Authorised PersonStrong understanding of electrical testing, verification, and commissioning proceduresProven experience delivering HV/MV infrastructure projects, including data centres, DNO/IDNO networks, or power generation facilitiesKnowledge of EN and local electrical regulations and standardsExperienced in supervising advanced cable works, phasing, testing, and spiking (where licenced)What’s on Offer€95,000 – €110,000 base salary, dependent on experienceFull rotational package, including accommodation and travel€1,000 net monthly living allowanceWork on a technically complex, high-profile data centre project in GermanyLong-term exposure to mission-critical infrastructure delivery across EuropeSupportive, safety-focused, and professional project environmentOpportunities for career development and progression within a leading European contractor
