Senior Mechanical Engineer – Data Centre Project (Amsterdam, Netherlands)€100,000 - €120,000 + Rotation (if applicable) + Accommodation + Travel + Living AllowanceAn experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer is required to support the delivery of a large-scale, mission-critical data centre project in Amsterdam. This is a senior, site-based engineering role with responsibility across the full mechanical lifecycle, from design coordination and installation through to testing, commissioning, and handover.You will work closely with the Project Manager, MEP Lead, Commissioning Team, and subcontract partners to ensure mechanical systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with programme, quality, and client requirements. This role suits a hands-on engineer with strong technical depth and experience operating in fast-paced, design-and-build environments. Key ResponsibilitiesManage and coordinate the mechanical systems package from design review through installation, testing, and commissioningReview IFC drawings, specifications, and technical submittals to identify clashes, design gaps, and buildability issuesCoordinate mechanical services with electrical, CSA, BIM, and commissioning teams to ensure integrated deliveryMonitor site installation works to ensure compliance with design intent, specifications, quality standards, and HSEQ requirementsSupport programme management by tracking progress, identifying risks, and contributing to short-term and long-term lookaheadsInterface with consultants, vendors, and client representatives to resolve technical queries and maintain programme alignmentSupport subcontractor management, including manpower planning, progress tracking, and technical compliancePrepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and technical documentation for mechanical worksSupport FATs, SATs, and IST activities for mechanical plant and systemsAssist with snagging, defect management, and close-out activities to achieve zero-defect handoverContribute to commissioning planning and sequencing in coordination with the wider Cx teamEnsure all mechanical works are executed in line with project quality plans and safety management systemsSkills & QualificationsDegree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent5+ years’ experience in a Mechanical Engineering role within large-scale construction projectsStrong technical knowledge of mechanical systems in data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, or mission-critical environmentsExperience working in design & build contracting environmentsGood understanding of mechanical commissioning processes and system interfacesStrong coordination and communication skills, with confidence engaging multiple stakeholdersProficient in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM tools advantageousDetail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working effectively in high-pressure site environmentsWhat’s on Offer€90,000 - €110,000 dependent on experienceRotation package (where applicable)Accommodation and travel providedLiving allowanceOpportunity to work on one of Europe’s most high-profile data centre developmentsLong-term career progression within a rapidly expanding data centre delivery platformExposure to technically complex, cutting-edge critical infrastructure projectsCollaborative, professional, and engineering-led project teams
