Rightio Subcontractor Ltd is a national property maintenance business providing plumbing, heating, electrics, drainage and locksmith services across the UK. We work with homeowners, landlords, letting agents, housing associations, block management companies and commercial clients, delivering responsive, high-quality maintenance and repair services at scale.

We also operate Care Club (careclub.co.uk), a subscription-based home cover product giving customers peace of mind against unexpected breakdown costs.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced, commercially sharp Business Development Consultant to join us on a contract basis — 2 to 3 days per week — to drive growth in our B2B channel.

This is not a role for someone who needs six months to build a pipeline. We are looking for a proven operator who already has the relationships and the reputation to open doors quickly. If you have spent years building trust in the social housing, block management, property maintenance or commercial services sector — whether that’s retail, leisure, multi-site or facilities management — we want to hear from you.

What You Will Be Doing

Identifying and winning new B2B contracts across housing associations, letting agents, block management companies, property developers, and regional multi-site commercial clients including retail, leisure and facilities management
Leveraging an existing network of industry contacts to generate early pipeline and rapid wins
Targeting larger installation and project opportunities alongside recurring maintenance contracts
Representing Rightio at industry events, meetings and tender processes
Working closely with the Operations Director and Managing Director to shape our B2B proposition and go-to-market approach
Feeding market intelligence back into the business to sharpen our pricing, positioning and service offer

What We Are Looking ForEssential

Demonstrable track record in B2B sales or business development within property maintenance, plumbing and heating, M&E, facilities management, social housing, or multi-site commercial services (retail, leisure, or similar)
An established network of relevant decision-makers — whether that’s housing association procurement leads, block managers, letting agent groups, facilities managers, or multi-site commercial property teams
Experience winning and managing contracts rather than just generating leads
Self-starter with a hunter mentality — comfortable working independently without day-to-day management
Based in England/Wales/Scotland with the ability to travel to clients and occasionally to our offices

Desirable

Familiarity with M3NHF Schedule of Rates or similar social housing contract frameworks
Experience of working on a contract or consultancy basis
Knowledge of the heat pump or renewable heating market as it relates to housing contracts

Working Arrangements

This is a contract / freelance engagement, we are flexible on structure and open to discussing limited company, sole trader or umbrella arrangements.

2–3 days per week (flexible on pattern)
Home-based or field-based — you will not be expected to work from our offices full time
Occasional office visits for briefings, strategy sessions and team meetings
Day rate: competitive and negotiable depending on experience
