Project Planner (M&E)

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Project Planner to support the planning and delivery of complex Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) engineering projects. This role is critical in ensuring programmes are realistic, well-structured, and clearly communicated across engineering, commercial, and delivery teams.

You’ll work closely with project managers and engineers to develop, maintain, and analyse detailed project schedules from early planning through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain detailed project programmes for M&E works

Build logical, fully linked schedules covering engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning

Track progress, identify critical path activities, and highlight programme risks

Carry out programme analysis, including delay analysis and mitigation planning

Support project teams with lookahead planning and reporting

Produce regular programme updates, dashboards, and progress reports

Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment

Support change management, reprogramming, and scenario planning as required

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience as a Project Planner within M&E or engineering-led environments

Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical project lifecycles

Experience producing and managing complex, logic-driven programmes

Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar

Strong analytical skills with the ability to challenge assumptions and identify risks

Clear communication skills and confidence working with technical stakeholders

Highly organised, detail-focused, and proactive

Nice to Have

Experience on large-scale infrastructure, industrial, or complex engineering projects

Knowledge of earned value management (EVM)

Exposure to NEC or other engineering contracts

Background in engineering, construction management, or a technical discipline
