Quantity Surveyor – Catering Equipment Contractor

We are a well-established and growing catering equipment contractor delivering commercial kitchen projects across hospitality, education, healthcare, and retail sectors. Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of our projects from tender through to final account.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused QS with experience in specialist contracting, fit-out, M&E, or catering equipment to join a dynamic and project-driven business.
The Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day commercial management of multiple catering equipment projects, ensuring cost control, accurate reporting, and strong financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender returns
- Procuring equipment, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Managing project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow
- Preparing and submitting interim valuations and applications for payment
- Assessing and agreeing variations and additional works
- Monitoring subcontractor accounts and payments
- Negotiating final accounts with clients and main contractors
- Tracking equipment procurement costs, lead times, and delivery schedules
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
- Working closely with project managers, site teams, suppliers, and clients
About You
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor
- Background in catering equipment, commercial kitchens, fit-out, M&E, or specialist contracting
- Strong understanding of cost control and commercial processes
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules
- Confident communicator with good negotiation skills
- Strong Excel and commercial reporting skills
Desirable
- Experience working under JCT or NEC contracts
- Exposure to hospitality, foodservice, healthcare, or education projects
- Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
