We are currently working with a well-established Mechanical Building Services contractor based in Rayleigh, Essex, who are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Estimator to support their continued growth. The Role
- Producing detailed and commercially competitive estimates for a variety of mechanical building services projects.
- Analysing technical drawings, specifications, and tender packages to accurately determine project scope and costs.
- Carrying out comprehensive quantity take-offs across HVAC, plumbing, and associated mechanical installations.
- Compiling and submitting high-quality tender proposals within required timescales.
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams throughout the bid and pre-construction stages.
- Evaluating project opportunities, highlighting cost-saving solutions, and assessing potential commercial risks.
- Coordinating multiple live tenders simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting key deadlines.
- Supporting the pricing and delivery of projects ranging from minor works to major contracts exceeding £2 million in value.
- Based full-time from the company's Rayleigh office.
- Standard working week of Monday to Friday.

Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in a Mechanical Estimator position, ideally with at least 3 years within the building services sector.
- Proven knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical installations across a range of project types.
- Candidates from an M&E estimating background with a strong focus on mechanical services are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrable experience preparing estimates for projects valued up to and exceeding £2 million.
- Confident in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Commercially minded with the ability to assess costs, identify risks, and contribute to winning tender strategies.
- Competent user of Microsoft Excel and industry-standard estimating software.
- Capable of prioritising workload and managing multiple tender submissions within tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal, organisational, and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
