Junior Field Engineer – Mechanical Bias

About the Role
We’re looking for a Junior Field Engineer with a mechanical bias to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for someone at the early stages of their engineering career who wants hands-on site experience, structured development and exposure to a wide range of M&E and energy-related projects.
You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, learning how to install, maintain and support mechanical systems, while also gaining basic electrical knowledge over time.

Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with mechanical installation works such as pipework, plant and equipment
- Supporting commissioning and maintenance activities on site
- Learning to read drawings and follow method statements and RAMS
- Helping to keep sites safe, tidy and well organised
- Supporting senior engineers and supervisors with day-to-day site tasks
- Completing basic job reports and site documentation
- Gradually developing fault-finding and problem-solving skills
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Interest in mechanical engineering or building services
- Some hands-on experience (site work, college, apprenticeship, or similar)
- Willingness to learn and take instruction
- Good attitude, punctuality and reliability
- Ability to work on site away from home
- Full UK driving licence (or working towards)
Desirable (but not essential):
- Mechanical qualification, apprenticeship or college course
- Experience in M&E, plumbing, pipefitting or plant environments
- Basic electrical awareness
- CSCS card
