Who This Role Is For
Whether you’re an experienced solar professional, a construction project manager looking for a move into the fastest-growing sector in NI, or a site foreman ready to step into project management – we want to hear from you. Solar PV experience is welcome but not essential. If you can manage teams, coordinate projects, and deliver on time, we’ll provide full technical training on the solar side.
What You’ll Do
- Manage multiple live solar PV and battery storage installation projects simultaneously, from pre-start through to commissioning and handover
- Coordinate and schedule daily work for 3–4 installation teams (12–15 people), ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the right standard
- Own the materials pipeline – plan stock, run audits, and make sure every team has what they need on site each morning
- Prepare technical documentation for site deployment, including commercial site surveys, project programmes, and bills of materials
- Be the main point of contact for clients on site – keep them informed, resolve issues quickly, and maintain Solarfix’s reputation for quality
- Lead pre-installation briefings, conduct project reviews, and submit daily progress reports
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation, conduct risk assessments, and enforce site protocols
- Ensure the completion of all project documentation including RAMS, electrical certification, photographic records, permits to work, and commissioning paperwork
- Coach and develop your teams – run performance reviews, identify training needs, and build a culture of continuous improvement
- Coordinate subcontractors and specialist personnel for complex installations
What You’ll Need (Essential)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in project management in construction, M&E, electrical contracting, or renewable energy
- Track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams of 10+ people
- Strong organisational skills – you’ll be juggling multiple projects, teams, and deadlines daily
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety in a construction or site environment
- Experience managing materials, stock, and site logistics
- Confident communicating with clients, from homeowners to commercial property managers
Nice To Have (Desirable)
- Experience in solar PV, battery storage, or renewable energy installations
- Knowledge of G98/G99 grid connection processes or NIE Networks procedures
- MCS familiarity or electrical qualifications (e.g. 18th Edition, AM2)
- Experience using CRM or project management software
