Senior Quantity Surveyor Berlin, Germany (New Build Data Centre)Our client is a €1bn turnover Tier 1 main contractor operating across the UK, Ireland, and Europe. They deliver major, complex construction projects with a particular emphasis on Data Centres, Distribution Centres, and large-scale commercial builds.As part of their ongoing expansion across mainland Europe, the company is now seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Data Centre delivery team in Berlin, Germany, working on a major new-build hyperscale data centre project.This is a permanent, full-time position ideally suited to candidates already based in Germany who are seeking to join a leading international contractor with a long-term pipeline of high-value projects across the region.Role Overview:As a key member of the commercial team, you will oversee all financial and contractual aspects of the project from procurement through to final account. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to play a pivotal role in delivering one of Europe’s most technically advanced construction projects.Key Responsibilities:• Review and interpret contract documentation to ensure a full understanding of project scope and obligations.• Prepare tender packages, evaluate subcontractor quotations, and manage procurement activities.• Draft and administer subcontracts and supplier agreements.• Track and manage project variations and prepare accurate valuation submissions.• Prepare and negotiate monthly interim payment applications with the client.• Manage subcontractor accounts, ensuring full commercial and contractual compliance.• Issue contractual notices and evaluate claims where necessary.• Prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts for senior management.• Monitor and control project cash flow and financial performance.• Work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams (design, procurement, delivery).Candidate Requirements:• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline—or possess equivalent industry experience.• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial management role, ideally on large-scale new build projects.• Strong understanding of procurement, contract administration, and cost management.• Experience across CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural) and/or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) disciplines is advantageous.• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.• Confident working with financial data, cost reporting, and forecasting.• Fluent in English; German language skills are a strong advantage.• Must be currently based in Germany or have the right to work there.Package:• Competitive basic salary (local contract)• Annual performance-based bonus• Company pension scheme• Private healthcare• Travel allowance / commuting support
