Hybrid Electrical Solutions are seeking a skilled and motivated Technical Engineer to join our ambitious and expanding team. We maintain 13 road tunnels across London and the South Coast under long-term contracts, managing the mechanical and electrical (M&E) assets within tunnel infrastructure.

Our work includes planned maintenance, reactive repairs, call-out services, and diverse project delivery. As a Technical Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of electrical projects, maintenance activities, and compliance programs.

You will collaborate closely with clients, site teams, and management to ensure all systems remain safe, reliable, and compliant—while driving innovation across projects and maintenance operations.

Assist with site surveys to assess project requirements and provide technical input.
Attend meetings with clients to discuss technical requirements, progress, and solutions.
Support the identification and generation of new work opportunities.
Conduct onsite technical compliance inspections to ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Conduct Internal technical compliance inspections
Respond to client queries promptly and professionally.
Provide technical and procedural support to employees and site teams.
Review electrical test certificates and technical reports for accuracy and compliance.
Undertake fault finding and problem-solving activities on electrical systems.
Produce accurate materials lists to support project planning and execution.
Research and evaluate new technologies and innovations to improve processes and service delivery.
Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, standards, and compliance requirements. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
High attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing documentation and reports.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritise workload.
A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on delivering practical solutions.

Essential Qualifications needed

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installations.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent (desirable).
Proven experience working within an electrical engineering or M&E environment.
Strong understanding of health, safety, and compliance regulations.
Full UK driving licence.

Desired:
Although not critical, ideally the applicant will have experience of working within infrastructure projects and has knowledge of some of the following assets;

Working with Pumps
Working Supply and Extract Fans
Ventilation Dampers
Variable Speed drives
Motors
Emergency signage (Wayfinder) systems
CCTV
Intruder Alarms
LED Control System Maintenance experience
