1st Step Solutions are working with an MEP company who is looking for a Heating Engineer on a temp-to-perm basis. The projects to be worked on would all be based in the London region. This is a PAYE position, paying £22 per hour Umbrella. Duties Install, service, and repair various heating systems, including Heat Interface units, radiators, and underfloor heating. Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance of heating equipment. Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions to heating-related issues. Collaborate with clients to understand their heating needs and provide expert advice on system upgrades or replacements. Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. Adhere to all health and safety regulations while on site. Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations. Ensure the correct setup, install and configuration of heat meters and associated data collection systems (e.g., M-Bus, wireless networks, data loggers). Work across London and the Southeast, interacting with customers and site teams Requirements Relevant qualifications in Heating Engineering or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilation). Experience in installing and maintaining various types of heating systems. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose faults efficiently. Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Valid driving licence is preferred for travel between job sites. Knowledge of current building regulations and safety standards is advantageous. Familiarity with heat metering systems (e.g., ultrasonic heat meters), M-Bus networks, and data logging. Proficient in using iPads for daily reporting, site documentation, and digital form submissions. Excellent written communication skills for preparing clear and concise technical reports Familiarity with communal/district heating systems and HIUs.* Confident in engaging with residents in person and by phone, with strong communication and customer service skillsIf you are interested in this role, please apply with your CV.
